Norfolk Walking Festival seeks volunteers and walk ideas for September

Pathmakers, the charity that delivers Norfolk's Walking Festival, is looking for volunteer walking guides and new walk suggestions ahead of this September's event. Training will be provided to anyone who signs up, and organisers are particularly keen to add routes in west Norfolk.

Preparations are under way for this September's Norfolk Walking Festival, with the Pathmakers charity seeking volunteer walking guides and fresh walk ideas to expand the programme.

NLAF Chair Peter Knowles, who attended the Pathmakers meeting on the morning of 12 February, told the forum that organisers are especially keen to hear suggestions for walks in west Norfolk, where the current programme has fewer options.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer walking guide will receive training before the festival. Ideas for walks can be shared with NLAF member Simon Fowler.

Knowles noted that while it is the NLAF's role to promote access to the countryside, Pathmakers is able to take a more direct delivery role in helping people get outdoors.
